The Asian styles that are working the best right now have to do with using different length bangs with short hair to offer a wide range of options for different face shapes.

We can see the influences in style in all Asian-made cartoons, video games and movies. Many of the toughest shapes to flatter are round and diamond face shapes which we find many of in the Asian population. This of course is speaking in very broad generalities.

General or not, this year especially we have seen Asian influence on hairstyles in the Emo style. If we look at the wild hairstyles that are being sported by artists like Adam Lambert, you will have a good idea about what the Emo style looks like. His style is all about expressing his emotion and personality. And his stylist does that very well by keeping much of his hair short and keeping his top layers longer. Then it is possible to style his bangs and parts differently for a wide variation of looks without much effort!

More mainstream looks have caught on to this trend as well. Take a look at Mandy Moore or Katie Holmes and you will find the same type of short styles and use of bangs for so many of their new looks!

70's Fashion, 70's Music, and about the 1970's.

The 70's fashion was such a fun time and was a great decade. It was a time when people dressed really funky, men and woman wore bell bottom pants. Tie dye shirts were popular; and people loved their music and expressed themselves.

Disco dancing was in, and people were hitting the dance floor! They were doing all this funky type of dancing that was really cool. Platform shoes were worn.

Rock and roll was big, there were many great fantastic artists playing some unbelievable songs that are still are popular and are played in today's music, at that time you were either a disco or a rock and roll person!

There was also soft rock that was very romantic, great to listen to, and relaxing. These songs had a lot of meaning. Couples had their special song. It was also a great time to just hang out with that someone special or just cruise around and listened to the soft rock hits on the radio.

In the early 70's latest fashion muscle car were really awesome, they were big, had great motors and some cool body styles, it was a time to just hang out with your buddies be proud of your car and just chat about the simple things in life.

It was a time when there was no internet and the stores may have been closed on Sunday. It was a time when technology was changing and people were changing.

Look up Jessica Lowndes at the Grammy awards this year for a formal look that creates elegance and grace. With her healthy, brown hair pushed up and back she elongated her oval shaped face. Jessica is lucky because her face has small features that love to be accentuated. She also wore the rest of her hair down her back. This gave her a very flowing, elongated, graceful look that the cameras loved!
Beyonce is no stranger to long hair; and she is versatile in her styles also. She has gone from straightened hair with bangs to wild curly hair on stage! She makes both look extremely sexy. Her secret is that her hair is naturally wavy so the wild, vertical curls she wears on stage are relatively easy for her stylist to create. But the straightened hair takes a lot of heat and relaxer, so she doesn’t do that very often. This is smart because she can keep her hair healthier without the use of many chemicals and heat treatments.
But if you are looking for real versatility, Mandy Moore is the woman to research! Mandy has gone from blonde to brown and from short to long styles with ease. And her square face shape is not an easy one to fit, so there is great hope for all women who are struggling with difficult face shapes of our own!

The Islamic Dress of the Gulf

The term 'Abaya' has many definitions and often there is a difference over what an Abaya Fashion like, what it consists of and what colours it comes in. The way I would define an Abaya is that it is a black long cloak (one piece) that covers everything below the shoulder except hands and feet. The Abaya garment is commonly worn among the Middle Eastern khaleeji (gulf) women.

The rational behind this definition is to set the Abaya Fashion apart from the Jilbab garment which has some similarities but many differences. Jilbabs to begin with have arms which are stitched to the main body of the cloak. It has many colours and has many designs such as hooded Jilbabs and has a wider range like smart, casual, work etc. Jilbabs can incorporate more style into the actual shape of the garment like frills, flares, ruffles, cuffed sleeves, laces, pleats and much more.

Abaya Fashion, on the other hand, are one piece garments with sleeves which are not actually stitched to the body of the garment but formed as one piece. This may sound as strange as it does but it is an age old custom amongst the Arab Khaleeji (Gulf) women to wear it like that. Abayas traditionally come with embroidery on the neck, sleeves or base hem.

Abaya Fashion come in light materials as long as the colour is black such as lexus crepe, a polyester type of material for a standard priced Abaya . Abayas made from internet crepe and satin materials are higher end quality and fairly expensive and can cost anything from £100 to £300 or over. Abayas can be open fronted with buttons all the way Afrom the topa down or closed.

Modern day Abaya Fashion worn by the younger generation are moving away from the traditional embellishment on the garment. The younger generation opt for more stylish geometric, floral patterns from silver or gold embroidery, bead, sequins, multi coloured crystals for standard or Swarovski for more expensive Abayas. These intricate patterns are added onto neckline, bodice, base and flowing flared sleeves with tassel to make it look more chic, trendy and elegant for younger generation to wear Abaya.
